Cattlesoft, Inc. was founded in July of 1999 by Terrell and Penny Miller. The company’s first software program, CattleMax, was initially designed as a custom cattle software program for a large cattle ranch. (Read about Hilliard Ranch’s use of CattleMax) With exceptional response to the software, Terrell and Penny determined the need for an easy-to-use cattle software program at an affordable price. Since that time, Cattlesoft, Inc. is pleased to have several thousand ranches in 28 countries using the CattleMax, CattleMax Spanish, and LonghornMax software programs for their ranches. Terrell and Penny Miller founded and own Cattlesoft, Inc., and are active in its continuing success in the industry. Terrell Miller is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a BBA in Information and Operations Management (Class of 1999) and an MBA (Class of 2004). Terrell helped start the business since his graduation from TAMU in 1999, and continues to lead the marketing and product development of the company with his strong interest and experience in business and marketing. Terrell enjoys sharing his experiences with student groups, business organizations and others. Penny Miller is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a BS in Agricultural Development (Class of 1999) and an MS in Agricultural Development (Class of 2003). Penny leads the company with industry relations, customer service needs, and employee management. She is instrumental in implementing new resources for cattle producers and staying current with new and updated needs for the cattle industry. Cattlesoft, Inc. currently employs students from TAMU to assist with a variety of activities, including day-to-day interaction with customers to assisting in the designing and development of technology solutions for the cattle industry. In addition, internship opportunities are offered to students in colleges and universities to gain experience in a successful ag technology company.
