Who Can Join?
Anyone with a web site can apply, and your application must be approved by Cattlesoft, Inc. to become an official Cattlesoft Website Affiliate. Payments are made by check (in U.S. funds) at the end of the month in which there is a balance in your account.
How often do I receive commission payments?
Payments for the affiliate program are made at the end of the month as long as there is a balance in your account.
How is my account information protected?
We do not sell or give out any information to anyone else. Your contact and account information is secure and is only accessible by logging in with your Cattlesoft Website Affiliate username and password.
How much does it cost to be an affiliate?
There is absolutely no cost to participate in the Cattlesoft Website Affiliate program.
Do I have to use/buy your software to become an affiliate?
You are welcome to purchase Cattlesoft, Inc. software programs to use, but purchasing is NOT required.
Do I get a free copy of the software or have an opportunity to purchase it at a reduced price as an affiliate?
You are welcome to purchase a copy of the Cattlesoft, Inc. software programs for your own use, but we are unable to offer you software for free or at a reduced price.
Website Requirements
Do I need to include an online store on my site?
All you need to do is include the Cattlesoft Website Affiliate product banner that we provide when your application is approved.
Is there anything that I cannot have on my website when I am a Cattlesoft Website Affiliate?
-You cannot send any e-mails or mention in print advertising about being in the Cattlesoft the Website Affiliate program. You can only mention the Cattlesoft Website Affiliate program on your website through the Cattlesoft product banner ad.
-Your site must not contain any questionable or offensive material, or have any anti-beef content or links. Any application for a site that contains questionable material will not be approved, and your Affiliate status will immediately be terminated if your site ever contains questionable material.
Does my Web site qualify for the Cattlesoft Affiliate Program?
Anyone can apply for the program. However, Cattlesoft reserves the right to refuse any website that contains offensive or questionable material. If your website later contains material that Cattlesoft deems questionable, your Affiliate status will immediately be terminated.
I am working to have a website online soon. Can I go ahead and apply to be an affiliate?
You must have a current website in order to apply for the affiliate program.
How will I receive the Cattlesoft product banner on my site?
Simply login to your Cattlesoft Website Affiliate account to access the variety of linking options. All the graphics and logos are hosted on our servers, and the linking codes include the code for the graphics. You must leave the graphics as they are and not change the location they point to. You will only be credited for leads and sales that are clicked on a banner that includes the website location that we provided with the graphic.
I have several websites. Can I add the Cattlesoft product banner to those as well?
Yes, as long as the sites are approved by Cattlesoft, Inc. Include a note about the website(s) in your application, or send us a note and mention the website(s) you would like to include.
I would like to make a change to the Cattlesoft product image that I display on my website. Can I do that?
Changes or customizations cannot be made to the Cattlesoft product banners or images that we provide for the Cattlesoft Website Affiliate program.
Can I link my site to Cattlesoft and other cattle software programs at the same time?
No. You can only link to Cattlesoft products for cattle record keeping programs. You may link to other products and services (such as weigh scales, tags, etc), but can only link to Cattlesoft products for cattle software. Contact us if you have any questions about whether you can participate in the Cattlesoft Website Affiliate Program in addition to other affiliate programs you may already be with.
Will you help promote my site?
We are unable to aid in promoting Cattlesoft Website Affiliate sites.
Tracking Leads & Sales
How are leads and sales from my website link tracked to my Cattlesoft Affiliate account?
We provide a unique link for your site that is included with the images we provide for you to place on your website. Each time a user clicks on the banner, our system identifies your site as the referrer. When the visitor places an order, your site is recorded as the referring site and your account is credited for the order. A Cattlesoft setting (called a "cookie") is placed on the visitor's computer and stays there for 1 year after their initial click. This provides website visitors time to review the software and work with the trial version before they purchase.
How often can I view stats about the Cattlesoft banner on my site?
You can login to your Cattlesoft Website Affiliate account at any time to view up-to-the-minute stats including how many people have clicked the banner on your site and how many have purchased.
How much money can I make?
Revenue will be credited to you upon payment approval from the customer. 10% of sales made from your Cattlesoft Website Affiliate link will be paid to you. The Cattlesoft software ranges in price for $145 to $495, so you can receive $14.50 to $49.50 just for someone clicking the link on your website and then purchasing the software!
How does the trial version work and I do I receive credit for referring those?
The trial versions are provided for no charge to anyone that asks. You receive credit when someone that initially clicked on the banner on your site purchases the software, but there is no commission given for someone requesting a trial CD.
Promoting My Web Site
What kind of advertising is prohibited?
You cannot send any e-mails or announcements about Cattlesoft products. There will be no leniency in cases of unsolicited email, and affiliates in violation of this policy will forfeit their commissions and be removed from the program. Affiliates who cause actual damages to Cattlesoft, Inc. through the use of unsolicited email may become liable for liquidated damages.
Can I send press releases or e-mails about being an Affiliate for the Cattlesoft software?
No. You can only display the Cattlesoft product images that we provide. You may not send out written information about being a Cattlesoft Website Affiliate.
Can a Web site based outside of the United States be an Internet Affiliate?
Yes. We welcome Internet Affiliates from anywhere in the world; however, customers that buy from our site must pay in U.S. Dollars. All commission payment checks are paid in U.S. funds.
